Kukke Sarpa Samskara Pooja Procedure
Day one
- Once the pilgrim gets to the temple and checks in to their booked hotel/Satram.
- The next one should take a holy dip at the river Kumaradhara 2km from the temple.
- The men will dress on Dhoti after the dip and trek to the temple, 5km.
- The pilgrim will perform six Pradakshinams.
- Next, proceed to the temple counter and show the online booking receipt. The counter officer will provide a token number and ticket.
- Take the ticket and proceed to Sarpa Samskara Mantap and Aadi Subramanya Swamy temple.
- The male devotees will remove their shirts and stay in groups (8 groups).
- There will be eight priests representing eight groups; the prominent priest will conduct pooja.
- Once the Sankalp is done for the group, each devotee will get a priest.
- The devotees will sit at a designated place with seats labeled. The place will have a snake idol; two idols will be white flour, one towel, and flowers.
- Provide the priest a new towel to proceed.
- The pooja will be done at the four corners of Agni Gundam.
- The priest will take one snake and wrap it with cloth and drop it at the Homa Gundam.
- The first-day rituals are performed to give final rituals to the snake you or your family killed.
- The priest will also take the second snake and drop it in a different place to mark the end of day one.
Day Two
- The devotees can take a dip or decide to visit the temple directly from the hotel/room.
- Wear the sacred cloths Dhoti and Saree and ensure your reach the temple before 6 am.
- The same priest will attend to the rituals to complete the second day.
- Now a Rangoli will be drawn in the shape of a snake with the six with flour balls.
- Next, you should perform three Pradakshinam to the snake idol and give the wheat balls to the priest.
- After this, devotees need to get the blessing from a prominent priest.
- Proceed to the Brahmachari seated in a row and take blessing from all as you leave the place.
- Next, perform the Pradakshinam to two cows outside Mantap.
- Now you can have breakfast at the dining hall.
- At 12 pm, go for Nagapratista to finish the Sankalp at the main temple.
- The pooja will continue, and the groups will receive a Prasadam cover containing coconut, dhoop sticks, and Prasadam.
- Ensure to take the Prasadam for 12 days before taking breakfast.
- Note you should not eat garlic, onions, and non-vegetables for twelve days.
